Setting up your fundraising page

Helen

Anyone can create a fundraising page for one of the registered charities or projects on JustGiving. Follow the steps below to get started.
homepage.JPG

To create your page just follow these steps:

1.     Click Get started on our homepage

2.     Log into your JustGiving account via Facebook or by entering your email. If you haven’t set up an account yet, you'll be given the chance to create one after you've entered your email

3.     Search for the cause you want to support

4.     Let us know what you’re doing to raise money. There are for choices to pick from - are you taking part in an Organised event (like a marathon), celebrating a Personal occasion, raising money In memory of someone or taking on your own Personal challenge?

5.     If you’re taking part in an Organised event then search for and select your event

6.     Finalise your selection by letting us know if you’re doing an event or challenge in memory of someone, if the charity is contributing to the cost of your fundraising, and if you’d like to stay up to date with all your charity’s and JustGiving’s news

7.    Choose your JustGiving web address

8.    Click Create your page

Job done! Your page is set up and ready to accept donations. Now you can start on the fun stuff – personalising your page and sharing it with your contacts.

I click on the link "search for the cause you want to support". I then search "Cancer Research UK". I click on the icon which takes me to the just giving cancer research UK page and the...I have the option of donating or viewing other peoples pages...thats it. Am I missing something blindingly obvious or is there nothing there?

It won't let me create a fundraising Paige it's not bringing up the option. Maybe it's because I'm on a tablet and not a computer.

I am having the same problem, the mobile site just takes to to the charities page to donate money not to set up a fundraising page for that charity.
It id's very upsetting and infuriating, pointless me having an account if I can't set up a page via mobile!

Hi Everyone,

So sorry that no-one has got back to you, we don't seem to have been notified about these messages.

I'm afraid it's not possible to create your page using the mobile site at the moment, you can however visit the full site on your mobile to create your page. To do this, once you've searched for your chosen charity, scroll down to the bottom of your screen and select 'View full site'.

Alternatively, you'll have no problems creating your fundraising page using a computer or laptop.

If you'd like us to create your page for you, please email help@justgiving.com with the charity that you're raising money for and details of your event and we'd be happy to do this for you.

Hi there,

As Sophie mentioned, you're not able to create a page using the mobile version of the site at the moment - we are working on getting this fixed, I'm sorry for all the trouble it's causing.

It's probably best to create your page using a computer or laptop for now, but if this isn't possible please send your email address, chosen charity and event details to help@justgiving.com and we can create your fundraising pages for you which you can then edit using your phone.

Again, I'm really sorry for the trouble caused here.

Can I set up a page for multiple charities?

Hi Tamla,

I'm afraid it's not possible to raise money for two charities on one page. If you make a page for each charity, you could then set up a team page, grouping these pages together on one landing page.

You can then share the link to your team page with friends and family and they can chose which charity they'd like to support.

Here's a link to our team page guide:

http://just.ly/team-page-guide

Hope this helps.

I'm doing three events in order to raise money - can I add all three to my one page? Or can I unlink the one event so it doesn't look as if I'm only doing one? Thanks

Hi Julie, thanks for getting in touch.

Once you've chosen more than one organised event when setting the page up, I'm afraid we can't remove or add events to it.

You should either update your title/summary and story to reflect your three events, or create a new page selecting the 'Personal Challenge' option when you're setting the page up. This will create a page that doesn't revolve around a single event date. You can then list as many events as you'd like in the 'My story' area of your page.

Please let us know if you'd like us to do this for you, we can ensure the URL of your page remains the same.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the fast reply :o) OK, I think the personal challenge idea is the best one - that way the page doesn't expire as the first event passes! I've already done the other things you've suggested. My page is at https://www.justgiving.com/account/your-pages/Julie-Hollis3

Thank you :o)

Hi again - do I need to do anything other than to say that I need a personal challenge page (as per your response above)? It's just that my last event doesn't take place until October, by which time my page listing my first event will have expired. Again, my page is https://www.justgiving.com/account/your-pages/Julie-Hollis3 and any help you can give will be appreciated.

Please could you combine the two pages and give it the julie-hollis3 URL? Many, many thanks!!

If you click on http://www.justgiving.com/remember/106495/Tina-Kelly you can see the two pages side by side.

Hi Julie,

I've now changed the web address of the page that you want to keep, to www.justgiving.com/Julie-Hollis3. You should give this web address out to friends and family - your text code for this page is JHHM99.

Unfortunately, we can't merge pages together. I've therefore updated the 'Offline Amount' on your page to £20, rest assured these 2 donations have been sent to the charity. Your old page has now been cancelled, and no more donations can be made to it.

Hope this helps, please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Hi Lesley,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to set up your page on mobile. I'd recommend using a laptop or computer to do this.

Alternatively, please follow these steps to create your page on your mobile by viewing the full site:
1. Visit www.justgiving.com on your mobile.
2. Log into your account by clicking on the person icon in the top right hand corner, alongside the question mark.
3. If you're already logged in, go to 'Your Pages'.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'View full site'
5. Next, click the button to 'Create a new page'.
6. Scroll down the list of charities and select 'View full site' again.
8. Now search for your chosen charity, click the link and follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to set up the page.

If you'd like me to create your page for you, please let me know the charity that you're raising money for, details of your event and your preferred web address and I'd be happy to do this for you.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch, I'm sorry to hear you've been having problems.

The first thing to check, is that you're logged into the correct account. You'll be able to check which account you're logged into by going to the 'Your Details' tab of your account. If you're unsure which email address you used to create the pages, please let us know the web address of the page and we can email you with the log in details.

Hope this helps.

Hi. Have been desperately trying to set up a Yimby fundraising page but can never get to the Preview stage, let alone add our bank details. Have tried every possible email, password, text length & content. Have hardly slept all weekend. Contacted you by email yesterday, no response. Rang this morning, was told someone would email me, they haven't. Tried email again, rang again, left messages. Where's the 5% going?

Have sent an image & all text in case Yimby can create the page - but nothing. We've people waiting all over the country for this. PLEASE respond.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for getting in touch. You might find it helpful to check out the Yimby help section (this section is for JustGiving pages) - you can see this here: https://yimby.zendesk.com/hc/en-us.

I'm really sorry that you've come across this problem - I know it can be pretty frustrating, so we're working on making the messaging here better.

Put simply, whenever this happens, our system has usually already created a page with the web address you've chosen but hasn't assigned this to your account. It therefore gets mixed up and isn't sure what to do next!

The fix for this is pretty easy - just chose a different web address (URL) when you're creating the page. This should let you through without any problems. I've replied to your email separately, so let me know if this doesn't help.

Many thanks,

Kate

Brilliant. Have been going round in circles for days. It gives you no clue.

As it's now so many days late and potential contributors have been lost, could you PLEASE do the bank/personal check & approval asap?

Thanks again
